Deutschlandstipendium: €300 a month

The Deutschlandstipendium pays €300 per month — half from the federal government, half from private sponsors. It does not depend on your or your parents' income, and nationality does not matter, so international students can receive it.

Universities run the selection and pay the scholarship. Ask your university's scholarship office when its application round opens.
Besides grades, universities also consider social engagement and obstacles you have overcome.

Real scholarships never ask you to pay a fee to apply or to receive money.

Scholarship scams

If someone asks you to pay a "processing fee" to receive a scholarship, or promises a scholarship in exchange for using their agency, it is not a real scholarship. Official scholarships are free to apply for.
